An ambitious urban transformation project with innovative and sustainable technology
Greenwich Peninsula, developed by Knight Dragon, is one of London’s largest single owned regeneration projects. Consisting of the redevelopment of a former brownfield site into a new destination for London, the creation of over 17,000 new homes and 48 acres of public and open space is underway along the panoramic front of the Thames.
With design and creativity embedded into its fabric, Greenwich Peninsula is a place that’s quickly earned a reputation as the capital’s most boldly modern landscapes. An excellent example of urban redevelopment for its focus on efficiency and sustainability both during construction and management phases.
Within the plan, Plot 19.05, delivered by Mace, involves the construction of 431 apartments for private sale in the Lower Riverside neighbourhood.
The project will be delivered adopting a hybrid construction methodology using the latest in “construction to production” technology to shrink the programme, increase certainty and quality of delivery, and reduce carbon emissions.
The scheme will use innovative off-site solutions such as a precast concrete frame and a structural, concrete sandwich panel façade, 562 bathroom pods, 431 prefabricated utility cupboards, prefabricated balconies, district heating network and others sub-assemblies, with supply chain relationships all managed in BIM with LOD 300-350.
Sterchelegroup will design, manufacture and deliver 562 Bathroom Pods within the construction program, leveraging its own established technological expertise.
